Building the Kingdom of God
on Earth
"Thy kingdom come, thy will
be done on earth as it is in heaven."
This conclusion of the Lord's prayer,
taught by Jesus Christ to his disciples, is the theme of this course.
How to build the kingdom of God on
earth.
We will discuss how the kingdom has both
a gospel element as well as a government element. One pertains to
individual salvation, and the other to societal salvation.
When both are implemented harmoniously,
we will have the kingdom of God on earth.
That can be done a person at a time, or
a family at a time, or a community at a time, or a nation at a time.
Eventually the whole world will embrace the kingdom of God.
Wherever the kingdom is established on
earth, whether individual or global, the kingdom of heaven will come down to
meet it, for the will of God is done on earth even as it is in heaven.
The intent of this course is to
facilitate the establishment of God's kingdom upon the earth as a separate
entity from the corruption of the world. We will approach the subject of
the kingdom of God as a nation or kingdom unto itself, to which the
righteous will repair and against which the wicked will have no power.
"And in the days of these kings
shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed:
and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in
pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
"Forasmuch as thou sawest that
the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in
pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold;
the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass
hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof
sure." (Daniel 2:44,45.)
