History of Triple-Couples Idea
July 11, 2001
<snip> I've been asked where this concept of triple-couples came from. Briefly, we all have heard of Moses' model of societal structure with captains of ten, captains of 50, etc, to help disburse the administration of the affairs of the people. This is basically an outgrowth of that. As I became involved in the freedom movement, I came across several writings, especially by Cleon Skousen and Hyrum Andrus, in which they proposed from the writings of great men and women ancient and modern that this form of societal organization (or something close to it) will be restored in the coming millennium of peace, and even to a certain extent in the tribulations prior to that time. The next milestone in my thinking came through JJ Dewey's presentation of the "molecular relationship" model. An index of this series is featured at:
See especially installments three and four, where were what captured my
interest. It is the idea that nature provides us with a compelling
example as we consider the progression from protons-electrons joined to form
atoms, and atoms joined to form molecules, molecules joined to form cells,
etc In other words, it is in the union of lower forms that higher
forms come into existence.
J.J. then postulates that the same should be true of human beings -- that it
will be through the harmonious union of many human beings that the next level
of advancement will be achieved. Hence, the next step for humans is to
join together and create something larger than ourselves. In his model,
he proposes four sets of three couples forming the basic "cell
structure."
Starting about a year ago, my mother-in-law, Susan Carter, began holding classes on Sunday afternoon to discuss this topic. It so happens that some of us in the class ended up working together in a business relationship creating the Temple Hill Resort project. www.templehillresort.com Through that work experience we have been able to begin implementing some of the ideas that we had been talking about.
The idea of joining the triple-couple into a covenant relationship, complete
with vows and a ceremony, came to me the day after Independence day. It
is a synthesis of a lot of great thinkers down through the ages; and it is
still in the cognative-creative phase; still being brainstormed.
I don't know of any cases where something like this has been implemented.
The idea fascinates me, and I anxiously look forward to the continued dialogue
that is sure to ensue as we explore various facets and even begin
experimenting or implementing the concept.
