Set-up Tips for Your @PatriotSaints.com Email Account(s)

Intro

The following tips are for optimizing your @patriotsaints.com email address.  They are not necessary for the account to work.  Mail sent to your_address@patriotsaints.com will be forwarded to your current e-mail address. (Click here to sign up if you don't already have an @patriotsaints.com address.)

Set-up

How do I make my @patriotsaints.com address be the 'reply to' address that people see when they receive email from me?

Outlook Express | Hotmail | Yahoo | Other

Microsoft's Outlook Express Instructions:

  1. In the main program, click on "tools" at the top of the screen
  2. click on " accounts"
  3. click on the "properties" folder and then changing the "e-mail address" and "reply address" to .com Instructions

    1. Go to www.hotmail.com
    2. log in
    3. click on "options"
    4. under "additional options" click on "preferences"
    5. scroll down toward the bottom where it says "reply-to"
    6. select "on" and enter your @patriotsaints.com address in the space provided.
    7. click on "ok" at the bottom of the page"

    @Yahoo.com Instructions

    1. go to www.yahoo.com
    2. click on "check email"
    3. click on "options"
    4. click on "mail preferences"
    5. under "Reply-to" enter your @patriotsaints.com address
    6. click on "save" at the bottom of the page

    Other email Programs

Most email programs provide this capability to specify your 'reply-to' line.  Try the "help" feature, and look under 'reply-to.'  If not, you can always contact the technical support people for your particular e-mail program and ask them how to change these settings.  If you would like to for how to do this in other email programs, we would be glad to post those here.

What about any e-mail forums I am a member of using my old address?  Will they still work?

If you are a member of any Yahoo!Groups (formerly egroups and onelist), you can add this @patriotsaints.com address to your list of recognized e-mail addresses by .

Other forums will likely have a similar feature.  Otherwise, you may need to subscribe separately with your @patriotsaints.com address in order to participate using that address.

Multiple Address Identities

Perhaps you want to be able to pick and choose which address you show when you send a message. In my case, I have four e-mail "hats" that I wear. sterlingda@greaterthings.com which is my scripture study and news analysis web site. Then there is sterlingda@patriotsaints.com which is my political activity hat. Then there is webmaster@allanstime.com which is one of the websites I administer, as is .

In Microsoft's Outlook Express e-mail program, I can pick which address shows when I send a message by setting up three e-mail accounts. Then, whenever I write a new message, at the top of the composing form I can select which e-mail address will be shown when I send the message.

You probably shouldn't mess with this if you are not somewhat conversant with email capabilities.  Either that or have someone who is competent help you set it up.

Multiple @PatriotSaints.com Addresses

Remember too that you can have more than one e-mail address @patriotsaints.com. Perhaps your spouse and you currently share the same e-mail address. Now each of you can have your separate e-mail address @patriotsaints.com forward to this shared account. To everyone else you appear to have your own address @patriotsaints.com, but as far as your internet service provider is concerned, you just have one account to which these two addresses are forwarded.  See the above instructions about how to set up your email program to be able to select from more than one account whenever a message is sent from your computer.
